About Us
Our Story & History
Founded in Zakho in 2005, AVA Organization holds the historic distinction of being the first non-governmental civil society organization ever established in Zakho city. From its very beginning, the organization was built on a passionate commitment to protecting children's rights, championing equal education for girls, and fighting against child labor to ensure every child is safely back in school. Over nearly two decades, this grassroots mission has expanded into broad community outreach, human rights advocacy, and civil society initiatives across Erbil, Zakho, Duhok, and surrounding regions. Guided by a deep dedication to social justice, our work remains rooted in uplifting vulnerable groups and building a safer, more equitable future for the next generation.
Our Vision
A peaceful, equitable society where children's rights are protected, education is universal, human rights are upheld, and communities thrive through mutual respect and the rule of law.
Our Mission
To defend children's rights, keep children in school and out of labor, promote girls' equal education, provide accessible legal awareness, and build bridges of social cohesion through dedicated community engagement.
